I found this recipe here. Every weekend the author is organising an action where one needs to prepare something she found somewhere in the Interweb. This time it was this really delicious sandwich. Originally it’s made with cheese and salami but I made it the way I like it so with cheese, ham and mushrooms and added my favorite pesto. Enjoy!


25 g fresh yeast

300 ml warm water

500 g flour

½ tsp salt

1 tbsp olive oil

ham (250 g in my case)

5-6 mushrooms

cheese (pizza mix and mozzarella)

1 small onion


1 beaten egg

Mix yeast with water, add 2/3rd of flour, salt, olive oil and knead the dough (if the dough is too sticky, add some more flour). Set aside to double (around 1 hour). After that add the rest of the flour and knead again.

Fry the onion till translucent, add mushrooms and fry till the water evaporates completely.

Roll the dough into 30 x 40 cm rectangle; spread the pesto, cheese, ham and mushrooms on it. Sprinkle with some spices (oregano, basil, paprika and salt in my case). Roll it from the longer side and stick the edges at the ends (see pictures below).

Put on the tray lined with baking paper (if it’s too big, form half moon shape). Brush with beaten egg and set aside for another 20 minutes.

Bake at 190ºC for 25-30 minutes until golden.
