Ahhh it was soooo delicious! Crumble and strawberries together are so good that when I think about it while writing this post I am actually wanting to make this one again very soon. It was an easy preparation, a little work with a great result. I found it here. Enjoy!

Ingredients for the cake:

800 g of strawberries

200 g soft butter

160 g caster sugar

4 eggs

1 cup flour

4 tbsp cornstarch

1 tsp baking powder

Pinch of salt

Crumble:

160 g flour

100 g butter

6 tbsp demerara sugar

Heat up the oven to 180˚C.

Coat the round cake tin (Ø 21 cm or bigger) with butter.

Prepare the crumble. Mix the butter with flour and sugar.

Now for the batter: mix the butter with sugar till it becomes a smooth, creamy mass.

Gradually add eggs, one by one, and then all the dry ingredients previously mixed together. Mix only till the ingredients are well incorporated.

Pour the batter onto the cake tin, assemble strawberries on top of it and sprinkle with crumble mix.

Bake for an hour or a bit longer till the cake tester is free from cake residue.

Serve sprinkled with icing sugar or not.
