I wanted to make a stew. Especially with dumplings. When I saw this recipe in the Australian’s Women’s Weekly “100 family meals” I decided to prepare it. It was delicious. Enjoy!
In Poland we call it “Hungarian” pie (and it really has nothing to do with Hungary) or gypsies’ pancake. I fell in love with it while on holidays in Tatra’s mountain. Got it one day for a dinner and I was sold. Since then I wanted to make it but I hate grating potatoes. Finally I prepared it and it was totally worth it! Found the recipe here. Enjoy!
I wanted something sourish and typically done in a colder season in Poland. Bigos is a traditional Polish dish containing lots of vitamin C (perfect for winter season). It’s a savory stew of cabbage and meat. According to Wikipedia bigos is said to have been introduced to Poland by Jogaila, a Lithuanian Grand Duke who became Polish king Władysław Jagiełło in 1385 and who supposedly served it to his hunting-party guests. Literally it means a big mess. Enjoy!
